As I'm writing, there is a fancy rooftop party happening in the building next to mine. I've been listening to these strangers laugh and talk along with the blaring music non-stop since 1pm. It's 8pm right now...it amazes me how they can party in pitch dark.
Anyways, I had my dinner dance two days ago and it was a really enjoyable event. To be honest, I was half dreading and anticipating the event because unpleasant things can occur spontaneously. There was also a lot of preparation from obviously the dress to very fine details such as your nails. It's tedious but important nonetheless. After all, this is our last final formal school event before we go off to university and never see each other again. This might sound silly but getting ready for the dinner dance almost felt like a wedding. And that whole dreading feeling right before it....quite similar to a bride's 'cold-feet' moment!
So after spending well over 2 hours on hair and make-up, we were finally ready to head over to our venue. Having been disappointed my the previous year's venue, we didn't set our hopes very high for this time round. However, it was complete 180 degree difference as the venue was gorgeous! The event hall was almost like a ballroom with the incredibly high ceiling, chandeliers and the mighty grand double doors. I felt like Belle from Beauty and the Beast in the scene where they had their first dance...!
After all stuffing our faces with food, warm-up dancing before the after party and tons of camwhoring, the event came to an end at 10:30pm.

The after party was an interesting experience on its own. I must say it was a comforting thought knowing the venue was completely booked for only people in our school. No strangers means the chances of sleazy encounters would've already been diminished...slightly though! Very peculiar things occurred including a girl who sounded like a siren...would not stop screaming her head off on the dance floor. I swear if a stranger saw her, they would've actually thought she was mentally challenged. Also, I know that when you're in a room with hundred so people dancing, you can get sweaty. But who knew you could get so sweaty to the point that it was almost as if you fell in a swimming pool and decided to head over to the dance floor without getting dried?! It was nasty. And lastly, I now appreciate the importance of forming a circle on the dance floor. It's a preventative and protective measure against unpleasant intruders.
