Spanish Fever

Sara Carbonero is a Spanish sports reporter who gained popularity last summer due to her infamous relationship with Spanish football captain, Iker Casillas. There was controversy when Spanish fell to Switzerland and rumour has it that Sara 'distracted' Iker, the goalkeeper. Whether that is true or not, she obviously has the last laugh because she's now treated like a celebrity. Whether you love or loath her, you have to admit she has the most coveted hair and striking eyes. Sara is also a dedicated Zara girl which means she's just like one of us! I take interest in her everyday street style as she mixes it up. She is also 100% committed to skyscraper heels/wedges as she is rarely seen in sandals and flats, got to love her for that!

A boho/hippie inspired look as she paired her grey blue shirt dress with a slouchy brown sling-bag.

The beginning of her affair with boots...she looked great wearing a classic trench coat, skinnie jeans and peep-toe laced up boots. I also envy her amazing bag collection, she has great taste in side-sling bags.

Sara mixes up textures wearing a wool-like blazer, basic white top and blue skinnies. Once again, she completed her look with thick heeled boots...they resemble clogs which is not a good look to me.

Perfect look for summer. She looked effortless wearing gladiator wedges, white crepe dress and a gorgeous knitted tote.

Adore this look as it is very easy to replicate. I love how she mixes her caramel coloured infinity scarf with a white and blue plaid shirt.

Black tank top and white skinnies can never look wrong together. Her hair is so enviable.

This is one of the rare moments where she's wearing flat boots. Unfortunately, as gorgeous as her dress is, I find the boots unflattering as they cut off at a strange place. The worn-out leather and style of boots are also out of date even though they somewhat match with her leather jacket.

She knows how to make a white t-shirt look interesting by accessorizing with beaded coloured necklaces.

Am obsessed with the colours of this outfit, browns and blues, warm colours look great together. She paired her flowy brown skirt with a simple spaghetti top, grey scarf and a gorgeous tote.

Last but not least, this ensemble is perfect for winter. She totally works the leggings look with boots and a tweed trench coat. The roses also look great with the outfit!

Sidewalk Fashion Show

The last time I did a post on celebrity street style was quite a while ago. I find it fascinating stalking celebrities on fashionspot because of their candid street style photos. I've said it before but a celebrity's look on the red carpet can dramatically differ when they're 'off-duty'. Personally, a celebrity called a 'fashion icon' should not be judged purely based on their red carpet looks but also their street style. Afterall, you can always just hire a stylist. Some celebrities claim they don't have stylists aka Blake Lively but the whole world knows she gets style advice from Karl Lagerfeld to Eric Damon, Gossip Girl stylist. The celebrities' whose style I'll be dissecting today is not based on whether I like them. They are simply outfits that are inspiring whether they've been styled or not. But honestly, to have even your daily outfits styled is just plain sad and lackluster.

Zoe Saldana knows how to work these flared high-waisted jeans. They can look tricky on people without the right proportions but Zoe has them. She paired her jeans with a billowy camel blouse with a matching coloured tote and sky high wedges. Effortless.

Her style is so fantastic that I decided to include another look. Did you realise that both of her photos look like shots from a magazine? She photographs like a model, jealous! This time Zoe opted for skinny jeans tucked into a loose white top that ever girl has to have during summer. Her boots are questionable because it is hot but she pulls them off. What really caught my eye in this outfit is the pop of colour from her red hot shoulder strap bag.

I love Keira Knightley. Sure her pouting can be annoying but she's a class act. She looked absolutely effortless walking around the streets of New York in a loose maxi-dress paired with sandals, sunnies and a shoulder strap black leather bag.

Clothes absolutely adore Diane Kruger. That's why Karl Lagerfeld is like a 'father' to her. Lucky girl! This photo isn't recent but she looked gorgeous and fashionable while cycling. One of my pet peeve is people pairing boots with shorts, skirts and dresses during summer. It is so redundant and shortens your legs...stumpy! Diane has amazing legs though so obviously this isn't a problem. She looked beautiful wearing a white tank top paired with short-shorts, biker boots and an eye-catching orange burnt vest cardigan. Her oversized tribal inspired gold earrings are amazing.

Unfortunately I can't express the same love for DK to Kate Bosworth as well. I admit that Kate has exceptional style and 99.9% looks flawless. Her problem however is that she is so dull...there is nothing interesting about her except from her clothes. True fact. Here she is looking chic and cool during the 2011 Coachella festival. Her Topshop American flag t-shirt is a cute tribute and I love how she matched it with fun accessories and lace-up booties. Okay, Kate is another person who can semi pull off boots with shorts look.

Olivia Palermo looked polished as she walked through the streets of New York...Upper East side perhaps? She proved to us that minimalism and simplicity is perhaps the way to go. She looked chic wearing a black sweather, olive coloured skinnies and grey ballet flats. Obviously her look wouldn't be complete without her cat-eye sunnies, trade-mark red nail polish and expensive gold accessories. Her tan coloured Mango (high street stuff for the win!) oversized tote matches perfectly with her look.

If Jessica Simpson wore this look, it would've been disastrous. However on Charlize Theron, it just looks too cool (lame but true!) Charlize has the right attitue to pull off denim on denim. The trick to this look? Always choose two different shades of denim. Here she chose a blue denim button-up top tucked into dark washed skinnies. She finished her look with white plimsolls, black tote, fedora and of course a cup of coffee.

Bring it on!

Summer 2011 is officially here. The blazing hot sun is finally out and it's that time of the year to break out in those oversized sunglasses. I love sunglasses because they make you look anonymous...if you feel and look like crap today, just throw on those sunglasses! This time last week, I was fast asleep after a tiring day of waking up at 5am to head to Singapore! I was in Singapore fo 5 days with 3 of my friends for our graduation trip. It felt slightly nervewrecking not knowing what may happen on the trip...disagreements and fallouts! Anyhow, I'm glad to say it was all in all a very good experience. We went all over Singapore from Sentosa to Little India to their famous zoo. Sure we all got a bit sunburned and sweaty but that's all part of travelling! I will shortly follow this post with one about Singapore.

Sometimes I wished Summer was more than just freedom and boredom. Summer is mostly time going by aimlessly. There is 0% stress, work and worries. What I really dislike about Summer is the laziness that is closely attached. For instance, I have spent the majority of this evening watching Glee episodes. 4 to be exact which is 180 minutes in total...3 hours in other words. Must stop, it's getting unhealthy.
